  • WHAT ARE TAPE IN EXTENSIONS?

Tape in extensions are a semi-permanent hair extension method that last last 8-12 weeks and are reusable for multiple applications. Tape in extensions are thin hair wefts, pre-taped, that get bonded in between your own hair and are stuck together like “sandwich” bonds. This method is 100% natural, requires no tools or chemicals, and takes less than an hour to apply.

  • WHAT TYPE OF HAIR IS THIS?

Our hair is 100% ethically sourced remy human hair. All of our extensions have the cuticles intact and are double drawn. We source our REMY hair in China and when this hair is washed and allowed to air dry you will see that it has a gentle body straight texture. Our REMY hair holds curl magnificently and can easily be styled for any look desired.

  • WILL THE TAPE IN METHOD DAMAGE MY OWN HAIR?

“No! With professional installation, tape ins do not cause harm. In fact, many customers feel that the wefts protect their own hair and allow for a healthier regrowth period.

Tape Ins should only be installed by a licensed professional. While tape ins are great for most people if you have a medical condition with your scalp or epidermis please evaluate all precautions with your medical professional.”

  • CAN I WASH MY HAIR EVERYDAY?

“You can – however we do not recommend it. Ask any professional hairstylist and they will universally agree that no one should be washing their hair every day anyway! Washing daily will shorten the lifespan of the installation and the hair itself. Each wash is stripping moisture from the hair (yours and the extensions) and the constant exposure to water will shorten the lifespan of the adhesive in the tape.

When first installed – you must wait 48-72 hours post installation to allow the bonds to fully seal. After this waiting period, you can wash as normal.

Remember to try and keep conditioner or emollients off the tape tabs themselves, and to deeply moisturize your extensions weekly to keep them as healthy as possible for as long as possible.”

  • HOW OFTEN CAN I HEAT STYLE?

“You can heat style as often as you would heat style your own hair. Top  Hair Extensions use 100% ethically sourced real human hair and as such all of our extensions will behave as real human hair. We suggest ALWAYS using a thermal protectant and a mild heat setting.

Just remember heat styling constantly will eventually negatively impact the disulfide bonds of the hair – leading to them being permanently broken and with you having heat damaged hair and extensions!”

  • CAN I GO SWIMMING WITH THIS EXTENSION?

“You can – with the same precautions of having chemically altered hair.

Our 100% Human Hair Extensions have been dyed to be available in all of the colors we offer. Any new blonde will know not to jump into a chlorinated pool or risk having green hair! The same provisionary steps apply to our extensions.

If you are getting ready for a fierce vacation, try out a swim cap, or at least rinse out the salt and chemicals residue in your extensions with fresh water as soon as you can.

Kindly note that depending on what chemicals or minerals are dissolved in the water CAN negatively impact the adhesive in the extensions. It’s best to always rinse your hair with fresh water as soon as you can to keep your installation and extensions in the best condition possible.”

  • HOW LONG WILL THE HAIR LAST?

“Individual installations can last anywhere from 8-12 weeks, given the care provided and what kind of hair you have.

Factors such as the sebum production rate of your scalp and the rate of growth for your own hair will cause a shorter installation period.

With proper care, the extensions can be reused for up to 3 reinstallations or a little under a full year of wear. Some clients CAN use their extensions for a full year or longer – it all depends on what activities and preventative measures are used.”

  • HOW DO YOU INSTALL?

“Tape In extensions have to be professionally installed by a licensed cosmetologist. You can use our Salon Directory to find a licensed Glam Seamless stylist in your area.

There are several ways to apply hair extensions as a stylist and here at Glam Seamless we do offer education courses if interested.”

  • HOW DO YOU REINSTALL?

“Removal and reinstallation should also be done by licensed professionals only.

The basic flow of a reinstall is:
Remove all tape ins from the head.
Remove all adhesive and residue from each individual wefts.
Wash and clarify each weft.
Allow to air dry overnight or blow dry.
Reapply Ultra Hold Replacement Tape Tabs.
Reinstall!”

  • CAN I DO IT MYSELF?

Tape In installations should NOT be done by yourself. All semi-permanent modification ought to be done by a trained and licensed professional.

  • CAN I COLOR MY HAIR EXTENSIONS?

“Yes, you can! Because our hair is 100% human hair all collections can be dyed. Just note that you should only use semi or demi-permanent hair dye on the hair itself. It is NOT recommended to saturate the top of the weft in chemical dye as it can negatively impact the main PU component. You should never ever lift the color, only deposit it. You want to keep the hair healthy. Color darker, never lighter.

Kindly note that chemically altering the extensions does void the warranty on the product.”
